About this Workshop

Help to protect nature and develop new digital design skills in this interactive online workshop, hosted by the Smart Citizens Programme in collaboration with Green Minds.

Throughout Plymouth, Green Minds are creating incredible wildflower meadows to support our wildlife and wellbeing - and they need your help to protect these green spaces and raise awareness!

During this interactive workshop you will learn how to use the free 2D digital design software, Inkscape, to design an amazing sign that will be displayed in these wildflower meadows.

After the workshop, Fab Lab Plymouth will laser cut your designs into wood to create the finished signs that will be proudly displayed around Plymouth!

Through this online workshop you will:

  • Be given a short tutorial introducing you to the free, open-source design software, Inkscape
  • Learn how to create simple digital designs using shapes, text and images on Inkscape
  • Get creative and digitally design your own sign that will later be made into reality by the Fab Lab Plymouth team and displayed in Plymouth's wildflower meadows.

Please note: Spaces are limited to 20 so please book early to avoid disappointment!

Workshop Requirements

You will be required to download Inkscape, a free design software, prior to attending this session (further details provided upon booking). We would also highly recommend using a computer mouse to take part in this session.

This event will be hosted online through Google Meet (no sign-up required).
