2D Design Workshop

During this short workshop, we will introduce you to free design software, Inkscape, and laser cutting software, RD Works. During this workshop we will show you how to:

• Understand 2D digital fabrication possibilities
• Use key digital function to design simple forms and objects in 2D
• Turn images and photos into 2D design
• Write text on your 2D forms and objects
• Save your design into the right files to be uploaded on 2D digital fabrication machines (laser cutter, vinyl cutter, etc.)
• Find open source designs online

At the end of the workshop, participants will be accredited with a Smart Citizen digital badge that can be added to your CV, email signature or LinkedIn profile to highlight your new skills in digital design and fabrication.
